Legislative and Regulatory

Agriculture is a big and diverse business and MO-AG members are involved in every aspect of it, from providing the products needed to run a successful agricultural operation, to marketing the grain, and everything in-between. Today, more than ever, policymakers and regulators are becoming more and more interested, and involved, in our business and how we do business. MO-AG is here and in your corner to advocate for your interests.

In Missouri...

Throughout the year and, particularly, during the legislative session, MO-AG constantly monitors legislation and looks out for the interests of agriculture. From our location in Jefferson City, MO-AG works closely with our state legislators, as well as state regulators. MO-AG stays in close contact with the Missouri Department of Agriculture, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and other state agencies to advocate for the business of agriculture.

In Our Nation's Capitol...

MO-AG works closely with various national affilliates and other state associations to educate policymakers regarding agriculture and impacts of proposed policy on the business of agriculture.

The Future of Agriculture

The youth of today will be the leaders of Agribusiness tomorrow. The Jim Russell Foundation is named in honor of the former President of MO-AG, Jim Russell. Through the generous donations of MO-AG members, the Jim Russell Foundation is able to fund scholarships for youth pursuing careers in agriculture, as well as funding organizations focused on developing leaders in the agricultural community.

Services

Think MO-AG... Think Insurance!

MO-AG now offers our members more comprehensive options for their insurance needs. Our program is designed to fit the particular needs of our members, to assure peace of mind for yourself and your employees. We are able to quote a variety of insurance carriers in order to provide you with insurance that fits your needs.

Regulatory and Risk Management

MO-AG members have access to the Asmark Institute, a non-profit regulatory organization that works through state agribusiness associations to provide regulatory assistance to the agribusiness industry.

The Institute acts as a resource center for compliance materials and services, develops common sense solutions to new regulatory requirements, monitors enforcement activity for uniformity, provides advocacy, and supports industry efforts to ward off adverse regulation. By applying technology and common-sense, solutions are created and developed to help agricultural retailers comply with DOT, OSHA and EPA requirements.

Networking

MO-AG members get down to business at two major meetings a year - a Summer Membership Meeting and the Winter Convention. Each meeting provides excellent opportunities to catch-up with colleagues, as well as interact with policymakers and leaders in the industry.

The Summer Meeting provides our members the opportunity to mix business with pleasure by adding a golf tournament and activities designed for the whole family. A great way to take a well-deserved break, while still improving their business!

Training

Training and accurate, timely information are vital to the financial health of MO-AG members' businesses. To meet the need, MO-AG provides topic-specific training, as well as bi-weekly electronic industry updates and a quarterly newsletter.
